ABOUT ZARRAFFA'S COFFEE

Zarraffa's Coffee, established in 1996, was originally a roasting house operating from the backstreets of Southport on the Gold Coast.  Customers would come in for their coffee and enjoy a fresh brew from the comfort of a Hessian bag full of green coffee beans yet to be roasted into perfection by founder and Director, Kenton Campbell.

Kenton's dream was for Zarraffa's Coffee to become the Gold Coast's premium coffee provider, knocking all the competition out of the water with an exceptional product and service guarantee.

Celebrating 12 years in retail in 2009, the proudly Australian owned and operated Gold Coast organisation received the Gold Coast's most venerated honour of being awarded Gold Coast Business of the Year. In addition to this, Zarraffa's also won the Retail, Wholesale & Distribution Award for 2007 and 2008 in the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards.

Borne in 1997 from a dream once had by Kenton Campbell, Zarraffa's Coffee came about from a $9,000 personal loan and some good old fashioned leg work. After much research into the Australian coffee market, Kenton singled out the Gold Coast as the foundation for the realization of his dream, and in true Aussie style 'gave it a go'.

Since then, the Zarraffa's Coffee experience has become something of an icon to many Gold Coasters and moreover many Queenslanders residing in the South-eastern corner. 'An individually perfect cup of coffee - every time' is our mantra, our mission and our customers' expectation. Great service is our practice and fresh, quality coffee our business.

Nominated in the Business Review Weekly's Fastest Franchises in 2009, Zarraffa's Coffee was actually ranked 20th of 100 established organisations.  One of only three Queensland-based companies listed in BRW's top ten and recording the highest ranking of these, Zarraffa's currently has 34 stores across South East Queensland and in Sydney, with plans to open a further eight to ten in 2008, including its first drive-through coffee outlet.

Rapidly becoming a humble recipient of numerous awards, and enjoying the ride, Zarraffa's Coffee also received recognition for its freshly roasted coffee beans in the Equal Golden Bean Coffee Roaster competition in 2006 and 2007, 2008.  With two blends making third position and our Guatemalan whole bean receiving second place in the retail filter category.

Zarraffa's, which is Arabic for 'Giraffe' is the appellation of the company depicting the two Masai Giraffes displayed in our logo.  The Masai Giraffe typically inhabits the Savannah's of Kenya and Ethiopia, Ethiopia being the origin of Coffee. Our name and logo combined are the definitive illustration of what Zarraffa's is all about…COFFEE!!

Not relying on anyone else to do the job right, Zarraffa's Coffee roasts and blends all its coffee fresh on a weekly basis and delivers to all our stores. Our national head office doubles as a warehouse roasting facility, where we also service the public with our individually perfect cups of coffee - every time!
